After creating a custom welcome tab for your Facebook fan page, a couple more steps are required if you’d prefer that tab to be the default landing tab for your new visitors.
Please note: Your Wall is always be the default view for existing “Likers”; this is Facebook’s policy.

How to set your Welcome Tab as your Fan Page Default Tab
- From your fan page, click “Edit Page“.
- Under the Manage Permissions section, select the name of your custom tab from the Default Landing Tab drop-down menu.
- Save changes.
Once you return to your fan page view, click the Edit link under your profile photo on the left sidebar. You can then drag and drop your Welcome tab to the top of the list of apps to make it more prominent. Be sure to click Save when you are done.

Great tutorial! I haven’t done a welcome landing page yet. Still undecided, but if I do, I’ll definitely know where to look for tips! What I want to know is why hasn’t the hubs “liked” your page yet. Just kidding. 😉

Hi guys, i’m wondering why i in my “Manage Permision” section can’t choose landing tab. There’s no droplist to select one.
I’ve created an app in facebook developers wich get a html file to use a landing page. Everything looks fine, but i’m unable to select default tab.

There is not a default landing drop tab in my manage permissions… Am I looking in the wrong place? Thanks!
Unfortunately, Facebook discontinued this ability after it rolled out the Timeline. It’s a big bummer for all those fan page admins who directed non-fans through their welcome tab!
