The Our Story section is located prominently on the right side of your Facebook Business Page (when viewing on desktop), or under the Home and About tabs when viewing on mobile. In late September 2018, Facebook also added this section to the center feed of your Facebook Page. However, this addition was temporary.
The Our Story section added to Facebook Business Pages allows Page Owners the opportunity to share another photo plus a more personal, and long form glimpse into their business. Think of your Our Story section as the Facebook version of your website’s About page. Before you’ve set up your Story, Facebook auto-inserts an image that has been previously uploaded to your Page plus the beginning of the text included in your About or Long Description area as a placeholder.
NOTE: In a Social Media Today blog post published on January 15, 2021, we learned that Business Pages are beginning to be notified that the Our Story section as we know it, is going away. The information included in the Our Story is being relocated to a different area of your Page (and the name “Our Story” seems like it will no longer be used).
NOTE #2: In late January 2021, Facebook began notifying Page Owners that their Our Story would be going away as of February 28, 2021. Facebook recommended copying the current text included your Our Story section, over to the Additional Information field located in the About section of the Facebook Page. This field is text-only, with no image or clickable links available like there were in the Our Story section.
Create your Facebook Business Page Story
Click on the blue “+ Finish your story to tell more people about your business” link to edit your Facebook Business Story.
If you’ve ever used Facebook Notes, the Our Story edit view will look very familiar to you. In this view, you can select a new photo to upload, give your “Our Story” a new title, and add/edit new text.
Post updated Summer 2018: The original recommended dimensions for a Facebook Note cover image were 1200 x 445 pixels. However, more recently Page Admins who were either creating their Story for the first time, or swapping out the cover photo for a new one, noticed that Facebook has begun left-justifying the placement of the cover photo when it’s viewed from your Page (before you click to read the Story in full). If you’ve had your image uploaded for some time and it’s always looked centered when viewing your Our Story section without clicking on it, you’ll be all set until you swap out your current image for a new one. For those who need to work with this updated left-justified placement, we recommend trying to crop the left and right sides of the photo you want to use (this has been successful for multiple folks we’ve helped). A reader who had luck cropping the left and right sides of her image suggested trying the size of: 880 x 445.
As you start adding or editing text, you’ll see that you have some basic word processing features like H1, H2, bullets, quote block, HTML editing, and adding an image or link.
When you have it looking how you want, click the blue Publish button at the bottom right corner.
Once you’ve published your Facebook Story, you’ll see that the new Our Story section replaces the text that used to be in the Long Description area of your Business Page. Other sections such as About and Company Overview remain the same.
You can edit your Story or change the image at any time.
If you’ve already written about your business’ story on your website or blog, you might find it easiest to copy and paste some of the text you already have on your website, into this section.
Facebook Our Story Moves Center Stage
In late September 2018, Facebook made a change that places your Our Story in the center column of your Facebook Page in addition to positioning it on the right (on desktop). This was a helpful change for Page owners who wanted their Facebook Story more easily seen and in a more prominent position. However, this addition didn’t last long. By late 2018, the Our Story section was no longer appearing at the top your Page’s post feed.
At this time, you cannot add back your Story to this center column placement. I attempted to modify my Page template to see if you can adjust where or if this appears in the center of your Page, but even with changing the order of your tabs, this was not available.
May 2019 Facebook Story Header Image Issue
In early May 2019, there were several reports of Facebook users being unable to see any new header image that was added to their Story. Facebook still allowed users to upload a new image to the header section of the Story, but once saved, the Story showed only their Story text and not the header image. Facebook Pages with an existing header image still showed the header image; this problem was limited to people changing their header image or adding an image for the first time.
On May 14, 2019, users began reporting that their header image was working again. This seems to have been some type of temporary glitch with Facebook.
Facebook Users can Share your Page Story to their Stories
On May 21, 2019, Facebook began notifying Page admins that users are now able to share the Page’s Our Story, to their own Stories. This sharing capability can be disabled by Page admins.
Facebook Getting Rid of Our Story with its New Layout?
Facebook slowly started rolling out a new look and layout to its Business Pages in early 2020. As someone who was offered – and accepted – this new look in February 2020, I have watched as things have changed (and sometimes changed back), features come and go, and new adaptations we’ll all have to make once the new layout is permanent, like changes to the ideal size of a cover photo among other things.
As more time went by and more users started receiving the new Facebook look, I began to get more and more questions about where the Our Story section disappeared to. As of late summer 2020, it’s a mix of people who can still get to their Story section but can’t edit it and others who can’t find it on their Page at all. At this time, Facebook hasn’t officially announced anything about the Our Story section, so there’s no way to know (yet) for sure if it’s going to go away entirely, or if it’s just been lost in the Facebook Page renovations that continue to take place.
Update October 3, 2020: When viewing my Business Page at https://business.facebook.com/EliRoseSocialMedia/, the Our Story section has returned, can be clicked on, and can be edited and republished. I recommend you try doing this while replacing your Business Page’s username with mine. Perhaps this means once Facebook completes its rollout of the new Business Page look, we’ll have this feature back and for good.
Thanks for the informative article, Liz! I was not aware of this feature and will work on updating it this week.
Sounds great! I’m glad it was helpful!
Where to find this, one my poage have my story, another one don’t
Hi Yana! Are both Pages business pages, or is the one that doesn’t a personal profile?
same problem! I have two pages set up exactly the same. one english and one french. everything is always posted on both pages but the french page has much fewer likes…maybe this is part of the issue?
Hi Lisa! What is “much fewer”? I’m curious to see if there’s a minimum number needed before this will become active.
The English page has 7000+ likes and followers. The French page has 1000+ likes and followers.
Mine isn’t showing up either. Does the page need to be published before this becomes available?
Yes, you’ll have access to make more features and functionality of your Facebook Page once it’s live/published.
I have a business page as well, and I have filled out a brief description in my Story section, but there is no option to further edit it like you have described. My business page is rather new and has minimal likes, so I wonder if there’s a minimum of followers you need to have this option?
Hi Amanda! Once you click to publish your story, you should be able to click on it when viewing it from your FB Page on desktop, and it brings up your Story with an Edit button in the top right corner. If you aren’t seeing that option, it’s likely a short-term glitch.
it worked for the newly created page, but on the existing pages I cannot add a picture or do the editing in the pop-up
So can you click on the Our Story section and it will enlarge across your screen? Are you given the Edit button to click?
Hello, the photo i’ve uploaded for this isn’t centered. Only the left side/middle shows.
An idea how to fix this?
It sounds like the image is very large/the incorrect size. I’ve run into this, too, when trying to use an image that I thought went well for the Our Story page. Try resizing or cropping to: 1200 x 445 pixels
The sizing is still off. Any idea how much smaller it would have to be for the entire image to show? It shows about 3/4 of it now.
Thank you so much!
Same issue – My image is 1200×445 but it is showing only 3/4 of the image.
When you say it’s only showing 3/4 of the image, is that from your FB Page view or after clicking on the Our Story and enlarging it as if you were going to read it? The “crop” of the image before it’s clicked on is different than what’s fully shown after clicking on the Our Story to read it.
Hello, I am having the same problem. In the preview for the About us/Our story, I am seeing the left portion. But in the full screen look – I can see it perfectly. Is there any work around making that preview box better?
Hi Katie! Can you email me a link to your FB Page at Info@elirose.com so I can take a look? Thanks!
Hello, I’m facing the same problem. In my more recent facebook business page, the story and the above location section, appears. I can edit my story, but I cannot put photos in there.
In another facebook business page that I have created since 10 months now, the location section does not appear. And also in the story section I can not put photos. I am trying to find out how to deal with this problem, but haven’t found anything.
Hi Enxhi! So, you can click to edit, and the story enlarges on your screen, and what do you see where the cover image is supposed to be? Is there a default image there that you can’t change? Is there a grey icon with the words “Upload image” that shows?
For your second Page, what type of Page is it? Is there not currently an address in the Page but you want to add one?
In my first account, when I click “story” is an edit button, that does not show a larger window, neither an upload image button.
In my second account, I have managed to set there 3 locations, that show up only on the location button, not on the about button. Also in here the story setting does not have an upload image button.
I don’t have this option on mine 🙁 How do I add it please?
Are you looking for this on a Business Page or your Personal Profile?
My story will not upload a photo. It acts like it is going to but will not save the photo when I click on update. Any ideas on what I can do?
It could be happening if the photo is either too small or too big. Maybe try adjusting the time size or even try with a different image of a different size just to see if you can get that to upload. Also, have you tried in a different browser? Sometimes that does the trick. Hopefully it’s a temporary issue for you.
I can’t figure out how to get my Story to post on the main page. I can only view it under the About Tab. I have other business pages that it is on the right side of the front page, but not my most recent page. I have checked that ALL settings are the same…. What could possibly be the problem??
Have you published it? It won’t appear until you publish it. Have you modified your Page Template at all?
Hi there, I have had the same issue as Chanel. My page is for a non-profit, and I have drafted and published the story. It still does not show up on the main page to the right of the feed. I have to go into “About” and then click on the story to view it. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks 🙂 Cynthia
Is this still the case? If so, can you share your FB Page link?
Same problem for me too, cannot see OUR STORY on the main page, need to go to ABOUT to see OUR STORY too.
I just looked up your Facebook Page and see your Our Story on it without needing to click elsewhere. Thanks!
I am having this same problem on a new FB business page that I just created. On the one that I’ve had for awhile, my story shows off to the right like it’s supposed to. But on this new one that I just created, you have to go under “About” to see it. And I did publish the page. It’s brand new though so no one has liked it yet… could that be why?
Could you email me your FB Page link? I’ll take a look. Info(at)EliRose.com – thanks!
do you know how to do the HTML editing in the story? We would like to change the font type and other things but it wouldn’t work. Maybe you can help us.
If you click to view it that way, it looks like just straight text. It doesn’t even show the HTML surrounding adding links, so I don’t know that this kind of customization is possible.
Can people comment on “Our Story”, if so where is the comment box?
No, at this time, there is no way for people to comment on your Our Story section.
When I add text and photo to Our Story section of my business page, Crisis Management appears all over it? Any guess why? Thank you, Alex
Can you email me a link to your FB Page so I can see what’s going on? Info@EliRose.com Thanks!
I have used the recommended size 1200 x 445px for the cover photo but the thumbnail on the right side of the business page shows it croppped. Ideally, it should resize the image. Why is this happening?
Hi Vartika! More recently, Facebook has begun left-justifying the cover photo when it’s viewed on the right side of the business page (before clicking on it to read it in full). This was not originally the case. What I’ve found other readers have had luck with is cropping off the left and right side of the image you want to use as that seems to help center the image. A new recommended size is about 880 x 445. Thanks!
When I add photos within ‘Our story’ on our business page, the photos appear OK at first, but, as soon as I publish the changes, the photos reduce to thumbnails on the LHS. How can I keep them full size?
The Our Story section is small and only shows a few lines of text before/without clicking on it. But once you click on it, everything will enlarge and you’ll be able to see the full text.
Hi, thanks for your helpful tips! Is there a way to “pin” the “Our Story” to the top of a page, so that it’s the first thing a visitor sees when they go to a page? The same way you can pin a post …
No, you cannot pin your Our Story. On desktop, it is located at the top of the Page but on the right. On mobile, just about everything except recent Page posts are accessed through a tab/button. If you wanted to keep that image and text on your Page’s feed, you could copy/paste it to a Page post, publish it and then pin that.
Good news! Facebook just made a change that places your Story in the center column of your business page (on desktop). You can adjust its location like any of the other tabs, by visiting Settings, then Edit Page.
I have seen people ‘sharing’ out their page story, but I cannot find a way to do that.
Usually you can copy the link (by clicking on the date), but in this case, it doesn’t seem to work.
Has anyone found a way to do this?
No, I haven’t seen a way to do it. I tried sharing the link to the About tab, but that just shares the Page and shows the FB cover photo, and not your Story. Are you certain it’s their Story they are linking to? I’m wondering if perhaps they copied and pasted the content from their Story as Note, which can be shared, instead of sharing a link to their Story.
what is the size of our story image in facebook business page
Hi Prabhu, As stated in the post, once the header image changed in size, one reader suggested an 880×445 ratio. I’ve also had another reader suggest a size of 1200×658, or similar ratio. Thanks!
Does anyone the font that is used for this section? Need to replicate it in uploaded images so it will match.
You might try checking with WhatFontIsIt(dot)com or MyFonts(dot)com/WhatTheFont to help identify.
Thank you so much for your article! I was at my wit’s end trying to format the “our story” image. I did use the 880X445 size suggested and the improvement was immense. This is my daughter’s business page and I wanted to use her signature centered on a textured BG so the position was really important for both desktop and mobile.
Is there a way to remove “Our Story” from the center column? We’d like our pinned post to be at the top of the page, but the “Our Story” section automatically takes precedence. Since “Our Story” is already in the right column, we really don’t need it in the center column as well. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Hello! At this time, there is not. I’ve tested changing the Page template, since that’s where you can customize (somewhat) the tabs/features you have active on your Page. However, you cannot hide it or rearrange it. Facebook will let you drag and drop the About tab to a different place in the order when modifying your Page template, but it still shows in the same spot when you view your Page.
Thanks for your quick response. We saw that you just answered this same question on your YouTube channel. It’s good to see that others also dislike having the “Our Story” section in the center column. Hopefully, Facebook will allow users to change the location of this section or delete it entirely in the near future.
I cant get my ‘our Story’ to show up on the page, can someone help me?
Can you email me your FB Page link to Info(at)EliRose(dot)come so I can take a look? Thanks!
How do you change the font-face from Times to lets say calibre or arial…..
You can switch over to the Text view and give it a try (when hovering on the left side of your content, click on the > button that appears). While I haven’t tried lately, I do know of a few people who have tried to make the font changes before and they weren’t successful once they flipped back to the regular view. Good luck!
None of the above story dimensions work….
Are you uploading the image in the header area? I just viewed your Story and the image you have is down in the body of the Story.
I removed it cause it cuts it off. Tried all dimensions mentioned above… non works
How do I delete it? I don’t want it on my business page or I’d like to edit it but can’t?
If you never published it to begin with, no one will see it in the right sidebar except for admins of the Page. If you have published it, you can click on it to enlarge it on your screen and then edit it. If you published it and want to delete it, click on it to enlarge and click to edit, then click delete in the bottom left hand corner.
I’ve tried to upload a photo in the “Our Story” section on my business page and it will show the photo as a preview but as soon as I hit publish, the photo does not show up on the page in the “Our Story” section. I used the suggested dimensions and the photo still does not show up. Do you have and ideas as to why this is happening?
Hi Amanda! Can you email me a link to your Facebook Page so I can take a look? Info@EliRose.com Thanks!
Hello! We have a few pages that we would like to add photos to the Our Story section. https://www.facebook.com/LaCollinaPA/
Have you tried uploading a photo to each of these Story sections? If so, what are you running into?
Yes, I’ve tried uploading a photo to each story section and it will show the photo as a preview but as soon as I hit publish, the photo does not show up on the page. I used the suggested dimensions and the photo still does not show up.
Hi Amanda! Could you send the link to your Page to Info@EliRose.com so I can take a look? Thank you!
Were you able to fix this? I’m Having the same problem where it shows up on the preview but doesn’t show up on the “our story” section of the home page. My page is https://www.facebook.com/omnistudiocanvas/
Facebook seemed to have corrected this very recently. I visited your Page and I can see your header image. Thanks!
The story option dosn’t appear on my business profile. Do you have any tips to how I can solve this?
Is it that you don’t see an Our Story area or that you wrote your Story but it’s not appearing on the right side of your Business Page?
Hello, do you know if in ‘Our Story’ it is possible to embed an email address? I do not get it. Thank you!
No, currently Facebook doesn’t assign a direct link to your Our Story, so there isn’t a way to directly share it.
I was able to put a link to the website but not the email.
Thank you very much for your answer!
I would like to share a direct link to the our story page for my FB page and cannot find a link for it. How do I find this?
At this time, there isn’t one available.
First of all thank you for all the information on this feature.
Can you PLEASE tell me how to remove this feature from my page.. I dont like it. Thanks
Have you published your Our Story section? If you have not, no one can see it. You will see the section there only because you are an Admin of your Page, but someone who is not managing your Page won’t see it at all.
I created a new business page a few days ago and the option to upload my business story to my page, either through the About Tab or underneath the cover photo is not allowing me to do so (there is not even an option available to do so underneath the cover photo). ON my previous business page I had no issue doing so but I have been through the help center and all tutorials and no one can tell me why this is occurring. I have enough followers AND by page is published. Please help. The link to my page is https://www.facebook.com/fromvictimtovictory/
THANK YOU SO MUCH
Unfortunately, I don’t have a good answer for you on this. What I have been finding the past few months, though, is that new Pages don’t seem to have it right away. If your new Page is published and you have at least 10 Likes, hopefully the Our Story section will pop up soon for you.
Any ideas on how to add “Our Story” if you don’t see the prompts to add it in the first place? Cannot find it anywhere on a friend’s business page.
Are you an admin on your friend’s page? If the Our Story hasn’t been published yet, only admins would be able to see that area. You/your friend can also try visiting the About section of the Page to try to locate the Story.
Hi, I added some text using this feature but now it doesn’t appear to be visible on desktop. I can see it on mobile version but there is no option to edit it. How do I edit this please?
If you visit your About tab (on desktop), do you see your Story on the right side, next to all the other info about your business (phone, address, email, website, description)? Sometimes it’s easier to go into the About section to access it vs trying from your Page’s main view.
Hi Liz, I am all of a sudden unable to view or edit my business page’s story in page info. The title ‘Story’ is still visible above ‘Team Members’ in Page Info on desktop but I can’t view or select my story. I created it a month ago, and all of a sudden it has disappeared. Have you heard of this happening or know what I can do about it? I want to retrieve the content I had written in it. My page is published.
Have you tried a different browser by chance? I clicked through on the link you provided and was able to click on your Story to bring up the full Story large on my screen. I’ll go ahead and copy/paste the text into an email to you as well. Thanks!
‘Our Story’ has completely disappeared on several of our business pages and it does not give the option to re-create. Is anyone else having this problem?
I have not run into this yet for any of the Pages I manage. All my Pages are US-based, though. Perhaps there’s something different happening in the UK.
me too – totally disappeared, no way to get it back, no help at all from Facebook (who never respond to help queries ever) Very annoying as I pay to advertise all the time with fb and nobody can now read about my work. On someone else’s computer I get the headline but then blank, on my own laptop etc nothing at all. Pamela Randal Fine Art
I just visited your Facebook Page and what I saw was the top photo and the title but no text in the body of the Story. If you click to edit your Story on desktop, what happens?
You’re the second person I’ve heard from recently who has experienced this. So far, all of my Pages still have their Story, but all my Pages are US-based. The other commenter who has lost their Story section is in the UK. So, I’m not sure if there are some things FB is tinkering with in other countries.
The Facebook Business Page seems to have changed in 2019. The text is taken from the About section and the photo/graphic is no longer changeable. At least that’s what I’ve run into recently. I need to change the graphic because it has a person’s name on it that is no longer associated with our page. I can not find the edit button ANYWHERE. All info about Our Story is from 2018. Some thing has changed. Any help or ideas?
If you visit your Story section by first clicking on your About tab (on desktop), can you get to it that way? And then click on your Story to enlarge it on your screen?
I wonder if you are able to assist me. I recently created two business facebook pages and on both pages the story option is greyed out. I can see the option but I am unable to do anything with it on either of the pages. I invited someone else as an admin on both of the pages and they are able to edit the story section. ‘
Do you have any idea why this could be happening? Surely as the creator of the page I should be allowed to edit the same things as an admin.
Definitely odd that one admin can edit the Story and another can’t. Are one of you accessing through Business Manager and the other, not? Or one trying on mobile and another on desktop?
Hello I have an interesting situation. I created our story, saved the desired text and uploaded the photo. However, when I click on publish update, only my text appears in our story section on my facebook page. Photos do not show. However, when I press edit, the text with the photo appears. how to fix it?
This seems to be a new issue as you are the 3rd person in a 2 day span to ask this. I haven’t seen this issue before now. Not sure if it’s a temporary glitch, which FB is famous for, or if it’s some kind of permanent change.
Thanks for the reply. The problem is already solved. I do not know how, but after a few days the photo itself appeared without my action. I hope others will get rid of it.
I had another commenter on my YouTube video who also reported his image has returned. It seems like it was a Facebook glitch.
hi Liz, that was a very helpful article, thank you. I’m in a middle of building my facebook business page. However, for some reason I don’t have the ability to edit my “story” at all. All the other sections are editable, but this one isn’t. Is there any reason to it, which I am not aware of? I created a page in a “services” template… thanks in advance for your advice. Kind regards.
So if you click on your Story on desktop and it enlarges on the screen, do you see any of the admin type buttons? Edit, Save, Publish, etc?
It does not enlarge, and there are not edit/save/publish buttons. I heard that there should be a pop-up window, in my case nothing pops up…
I’m having the same problem as a few people here and don’t yet see an answer.
! I’ve tried to upload a photo in the header area in the “Our Story” section on my business page and it will show the photo as a preview in the header area of “Our Story” but as soon as I hit publish, the photo does not show up on the page in the “Our Story” section. I used the suggested dimensions and the photo still does not show up. Do you have and ideas as to why this is happening? https://business.facebook.com/anunstoppablelife/
This seems to be a new issue as you are the 3rd person in a 2 day span to ask this. I haven’t seen this issue before now. Not sure if it’s a temporary glitch, which FB is famous for, or if it’s some kind of permanent change.
Interesting, at least it’s good to hear I’m not the only one struggling with this. I wrote to facebook “help” team, let’s see if they respond.
Same problem here. Tried several dimensions but as soon as I hit publish, there is no photo visible.
Try checking again. I’ve heard from 2 people that now their header image is showing like it should.
Yes, it works now!
I’ve recently tried to switch out my photo in the my story section of the page and now my photo won’t appear! Any thoughts? When I click “add photo”, it pops up, but once I save and exit, it can no longer be seen. It’s driving me nuts!
Take a look now. Facebook has been correcting this and a bunch of people are now seeing their header image on their Story again.
Yes I actually just noticed today that it appeared! Though when I click, it stretches the photo out. Thinking I need to just go in and change the dimensions, though I’m scared to remove it now
I can’t see the image at all on mine unless I go into it https://www.facebook.com/wildmoonjewellery/
I took a look and I can see yours now. Facebook seems to have recently fixed this.
Any word on the photo uploading? I’ve tried all the above suggested dimensions and nothing works. It won’t show on my homepage…
It seems like people who were having this issue are now seeing it fixed on their Story.
In my Facebook page, I don’t see the section ” Our Story “anymore. I want to edit and put it on my page again, but now I can’t see it. Thank you
Can you share the link or Page name so I can take a look?
It’s good now !
Thank you E R Team
Hi there, my page is published but I don’t have the button to edit the story in the about section, can you help?
Have you already written and published your Story? If so, when you click on your Story to enlarge it on your screen, what buttons can you see at the bottom? And when you visit your About section, do you see your Story on the right side of the screen?
I have added an ‘Our Story’ to my business page but it won’t appear on the home page, only on the about page. I see some other people have the same issue on this thread but can’t see any solution here. Am I doing anything wrong? My page and story are published. Thanks
Hi Amy! Can you share your Facebook Page link so I can take a look?
Hi, have you had chance to look at this?
Yep, I see your Story as soon as I visit your Page. You have an image with an orange life preserver as the Story cover image, right?
My Story page, which is not published yet, shows a camera icon in place of each caption I try to paste from Word. I had not had this problem before while working on the page. The only problem I had was the extra space below my captions for a title, which I did not need. Any insight?
It sounds like it’s copying over formatting from Word, into your Story. It’s probably going to be easiest to delete out everything in your Story and manually type it in. There’s a lot of unseen formatting in Word, and I think that’s what’s screwing you up with the copy/paste.
I’ve changed my business page name a few times while working on the page, which isn’t published yet. This last name I’ve chosen isn’t going through, and I’ve entered it several times. It is not against any of the posted rules for naming a page. It has all caps as part of the name, but it is an acronym, which is allowed. Should I just assume that Facebook thinks so, and give up on it? I sent a message for a function not working yesterday and it’s too soon to hear back, if I do. Any experience with this? Thanks.
I hired a SM co to do FB Ads and they added a Our Story to my Facebook Page. I have never liked the copy and keep researching on how to delete it but have not been able to find anything. When I click on the Our Story at the bottom it has my Facebook business logo liking & commenting as at the very bottom.
There is no access to Our Story on the about page.
Can anyone guide me? thank you!
Are you a full admin on your Page? When I visit your About tab, I can see your Our Story section. Are you visiting it on desktop? It’s not accessible on mobile. If you are trying to check it on mobile only, that might be the problem.
Omg Yes! I hate using my computer.
This is not related to Our Story but the name of the Business Page. I’ve been trying to change the name with everything rejected apparently as, after a few days, the same name is there and I am able to submit a change again. I have tried various names with the same result. Now I am getting this message when I submit a change. Your Page name can’t be changed.
You can update your Page category and add other info to describe your Page so it is easier for people to find it. Learn more. I have not published and am not going to publish with the current name. What should I do?
When you say, “after a few days, the same name is there”, do you mean that you seem to be able to submit a name change and it goes through, but then it reverts back to the old name after a few days?
When I have submitted a name change, for a few days I cannot submit another 1. When I press edit I get the message that I’ve already submitted 1 and I have to wait. After a few days that message no longer appears, my name hasn’t changed, and I’m able to submit another name. That has changed. Now I get the message name cannot be changed when I click edit. I hope that clarifies it.
How do you hide your business page photos from appearing in your posting thread visible to viewers (View as Page Visitor) — not on my admin page. The posts are interrupted by this sudden explosion of my photos in a block titled Photos–from my profile to my cover picture and all the miscellaneous photos I have here and there. Not the Story cover photo though. I don’t want these to show. Is there any way to keep this from happening? Thanks.
All content posted to a Business Page is public, including photos. So there’s no way to completely hide a previously-posted photo unless you want to delete it off the Page. You can choose to hide a photo post from your timeline, but that doesn’t make it hidden in other places on Facebook. However, if rearranging your Page’s tabs so your Photos were located in a place of less prominence, you can try that. You would do so by visiting your Settings, then Template, and then dragging and dropping the tab order. Good luck!
I cannot find this option on my Facebook business page… can you tell me where to find it please? I have searched everywhere
It seems like it’s gotten lost (maybe temporarily, maybe forever?) in the Facebook shuffle as Facebook has been rolling out and making changes to the look and layout of its Business Pages.
Hi ! I have done my Story and it is fine on the desktop …. but on my mobile it doesnt appear ! I click on Home and the About tab next to it … however it only displays the editing options for contact details, opening hrs and the little description box (that you can only put 200 characters in) … nothing else. Is it in another area on the mobile?? thanks so much ! JAckie
Sadly, Facebook never seemed to create a spot for it on the mobile view.
Hi there! We were setting up our FB page, and was able to add Our Story section; however, is not able to edit it. Wondering if you could assist us on this. It would be much appreciated.
Hi JP! I’d suggest trying this: When viewing my Business Page at https://business.facebook.com/EliRoseSocialMedia/, the Our Story section has returned, can be clicked on, and can be edited and republished. Try swapping your Page username where mine is, and see if you can access it that way.
Did the Our Story feature get removed in the latest round of tweaks to business pages? I cannot seem to find the area where to create/edit the Our Story feature on the non-profit page I became an admin for.
Yes, as the new Page layout has rolled out more and more, it seems like most users can’t locate their Our Story anymore where others can but can’t edit it. It remains to be seen if it will be gone for good or if it just hasn’t found its permanent home yet.
Hello – there is no edit button for the Our Story on my facebook business page. I’d like to update the information but cannot figure out how to do it! I haven’t been able to update this section since spring 2020. Thank you for any assistance you can provide.
Hi Jan! I’d suggest trying this: When viewing my Business Page at https://business.facebook.com/EliRoseSocialMedia/, the Our Story section has returned, can be clicked on, and can be edited and republished. Try swapping your Page username where mine is, and see if you can access it that way.
Hiya, I cant seem to edit my story page – any ideas on how i may be able to?

Hi Bethan! I’d suggest trying this: When viewing my Business Page at https://business.facebook.com/EliRoseSocialMedia/, the Our Story section has returned, can be clicked on, and can be edited and republished. Try swapping your Page username where mine is, and see if you can access it that way.
I see that you updated in Oct. 2020 that you could update the Our Story section on a business page again. However, I am not seeing that option. Do you know if they have removed it again? Your blog is the first I have come across addressing this issue.
Yes, what you’ll need to do is try viewing your Page at https://business.facebook.com/EliRoseSocialMedia/ but with your username in place of mine. That’s the only way currently that the Our Story seems to be able to be accessed for changes, etc. Good luck!
hi, is facebook story different from our story… its two different things right?
The Facebook Story section is called “Our Story” by default. But if you are referring to Stories like what you have on Instagram, your Facebook Profile, and your Facebook Page, that is something different.
