Facebook Pages – for all of their frustrations – do offer some handy features, too. For example, you can integrate all sorts of apps with your Facebook Page to customize your Page to your company’s needs as well as provide options to your customers to service them better. One of our favorites is the popular (and free) email newsletter provider, MailChimp.
Yes, it’s possible to add an opt-in to your MailChimp email list as an app or tab on your Facebook Page!
Here are the steps you need to follow to set it up.
How to Integrate MailChimp with your Facebook Page
After logging in to your MailChimp account, click on your account name in the upper right hand corner. Then choose Account from the drop down menu.
From the navigation bar, click on Integrations. Then scroll down to Facebook.
Click to connect to Facebook (you need to be logged in to your Facebook account before clicking).
Initially, you’ll likely be logged in to Facebook as yourself vs your Page. If you click on your name (over on the right side), you’ll be presented with a drop-down menu.
Choose the correct Facebook Page to connect to your MailChimp account from the list provided under Pages to use. Next, select the MailChimp list you’d like to use. This is the list new subscribers would be added to when they opt-in from your Facebook Page, so if you have a specific list set up for this purpose, make sure to select it here.
You can add your MailChimp sign-up form to this tab by selecting “Yes” and then choosing “My List’s Theme (default)” from the drop down menu.
You can add a label for your tab (which shows on your Facebook Page) in the field provided. Click “Save” and then on the blue “Preview on Facebook Page” link to see it live.
If you’d like to change the tab label from your Facebook Page, you can do so by visiting: Settings –> Apps –> Edit Settings.
This is also the place you visit should you want to remove the MailChimp app from your Page entirely.
It’s a good idea to check your MailChimp tab from time to time, too, because it can become unauthorized over time.
If you’d like to rearrange the order of your Facebook Tabs, click on the Manage Tabs link at the bottom of the left-hand navigation.
You can drag and drop to reorder your tabs to position your MailChimp tab as prominent as you’d like.
Your MailChimp tab, like all your other Facebook Page tabs, has its own URL should you want to directly share it on your Page or elsewhere.
